Yesterday was a special day for many. It was a day that is the first and last of its kind, as it was the last repetitive date we will ever see. Well, Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire decided to make it memorable. He married the mother of his three children, Alexis Welch.
The two married in an intimate ceremony with 12 guest, really taking the meaning of the date 12/12/12 seriously. The strict guest list included mostly family, and the couple’s children, who participated in the wedding.
Sources say Welch, “looked beautiful”, in a clad long, slim-fitting, custom-made wedding dress with no train. Amar’e wore a Calvin Klein suit.
Amar’e tweeted the pic above with the caption:
“12.12.12 now has a special & spiritual meaning to us …”
How Sweet! Both rings were designed by Shayan Afshar. Alexis wasted no time in changing her Instagram name to AlexisAStoudemire. That’s right girl!!
After the wedding the two showed up to the ’12-12-12′ benefit concert at Madison Square Garden. The concert took place to help thos affected by Superstorm Sandy. The newlyweds were affected by Sandy, as the rooftop they married on was flooded.
Stoudemire proposed to Welch outside the Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile in Paris, overlooking the Eiffel Tower, with an 81/2-carat diamond that cost more than $1 million, on June 2nd of this year. The couple who began dating in 2002 , is planning a big summer wedding to include family and friends who did not attend yesterdays wedding.
